In a globalized world, being a small state has its advantages and disadvantages. Through the Crèdit Andorrà Chair on Markets, Organizations and Humanism,
we have sought to organize a meeting which will be a forum of discussion on the small states’ role in relation to the European Union. The purpose of this
meeting is to take a closer look at Andorra’s, Iceland’s and Liechtenstein’s models of relation with the European Union and, at the same time, to exchange
experiences which may be useful to these three states. In this way it is hoped to shed light on the small states’ strengths and weaknesses in order to
generate strategies favouring economic development and the generation of synergies.
The colloquium is addressed to institutions, to the business world and, in general, to all persons who, for personal or professional reasons, have a special
interest in learning about the small states’ specificity in their relations with the European Union.
